Our firm has a premier practice in the area of civil rights, which involve fundamental issues of human rights and freedoms. We represent clients who believe that they have been the victims of sexual harassment, and discrimination - age, disability and illness, national origin, sex, race, and religion - in employment, public accommodation, education, housing, or voting under federal or state law. A significant part of our practice is devoted to issues specifically related to employment law and discrimination-related litigation. This practice includes defending and pursuing claims of age discrimination under the Age Discrimination in Employment Act and the Older Workers Benefits Protection Act, claims of disability discrimination brought pursuant to either the Americans with Disabilities Act or the Rehabilitation Act, claims based on gender, race, color, religion and national origin under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, and other discrimination claims brought under various state and local laws.

In addition to discrimination litigation, our employment law practice includes defending and pursuing claims of sexual harassment, unlawful retaliatory business practices, and violations of state or federal "whistle-blower" laws. We also have extensive experience with employment-related issues such as the validity and enforceability of confidentiality agreements and non-compete clauses. In order to help our corporate clients avoid costly and morale-damaging employee claims in the first instance, we also provide a full range of consulting services such as employment practice audits, employment contract drafting and negotiation, and planning for plant closures and reductions in force, including statistical analysis for protected groups and Warn Act compliance.
